QueryGap Privacy Policy

QueryGap is a Shopify app that measures product visibility in Shopify Catalog searches.

Information we access

QueryGap requests read-only product access. We process store identity and product catalog information such as product titles, product types, vendors, tags, and price ranges so that we can generate relevant buyer searches and measure catalog visibility.

QueryGap does not request access to customer names, addresses, email addresses, phone numbers, orders, payment information, or checkout data.

Information we store

We store the shop domain and name, authentication/session records required to operate the Shopify app, QueryGap scan results such as tested queries, positions, competitor domains, and historical visibility metrics, and basic operational events such as install/uninstall times, scan success or failure, and support correlation IDs.

How we use information

We use this information only to provide, secure, maintain, and improve QueryGap. Product-derived buyer queries are sent to Shopify Catalog search services to produce visibility results.

Retention and deletion

We retain app data while needed to provide the service. We process Shopify privacy and shop-redaction requests and delete stored QueryGap scan data associated with a shop when Shopify sends the applicable deletion webhook.

Sharing and sale of data

We do not sell merchant data. We disclose data only to service providers needed to operate QueryGap, to Shopify as part of the platform integration, or when required by law.

Security

QueryGap uses HTTPS in production, requests the minimum Shopify access scope needed for its current features, and validates Shopify webhook requests through Shopify's authentication framework.
